Musings of Lost Souls

These are the stories of those folks that have never had their fifteen minutes. They go to the Serendipity whenever they want something. Just around the corner...down the block...through the alley, Serendipity is always nearby. Just ask for Phae he's the owner/bartender. As you opened the door and entered through the portal...

What the Storm Blew in (Alex)

She stood in the middle of the street. Her horse's saddlebags lay at her feet but the painted mare was nowhere to be seen. There was a cool breeze that whipped the bottoms of her chaps about her legs. Alex felt for her pistols, breathing a sigh of relief to feel their coolness at her fingertips. The last thing she wanted was to be in some strange place without her sidearms. It was bad enough that her horse was gone.
Where was she and how on earth did she get here? She closed her eyes, trying to relive the last of her memories.....

I was on Misty, running from that blasted sheriff and his deputies. We were crossing the dessert when a sand storm came out of nowhere. We tried to make it to the cliffs for shelter but the storm beat us. The sand circled all around us. It felt as though thousands of needles were hitting my exposed skin. There was a sense of floating, like I was one with the storm and then....

"Then what?" she said aloud as if voicing her question would give her the answer. But there was no answer, only silence. No matter how much she thought on it, Alex could not put the pieces together.

"I need a drink," she said to herself, and with that she hoisted her saddlebags up onto her shoulder. Taking in her strange surroundings she spotted a place at the end of the street that looked like it could satisfy her need.

The second her spurred boots crossed the threshold of the Serendipity, Alex knew for sure she wasn't in Mexico anymore. She wasn't even for sure if she was on Earth. All manner of creature filled the room. But strangely enough it all seemed comfortable to her, vaguely familiar.
Needing that drink now more than ever, Alex made her way over to a vacant table in the corner. Pulling the brim of her hat low over her eyes, she proceeded to take in her new surroundings.

" Now what have I gotten myself into,"she whispered.
